Hi all,

Yet another question...

It's about tax etc on your wages.

For example, how much tax etc (ACC.. what else?) would I pay on a yearly wage of NZ$50k ?

The UK tax system is pretty complex.. what with national insurance etc

Any input on how the system works would be appreciated.

Regards,

All earnings are taxable, every single cent earned from wages or interest.

First 38000 tax deducted at 19.5%
38001-60000 33%
60001 upwards 39%

Salary of $50K take home would be 38630 (3219 a month), total tax 11370

No other deductions, acc gets taken via insurance premiums and car tax

That help?

There are also various tax credits (like the UK working families/children's tax credits) available to those with families and incomes up to around $70-80K but not sure if you can get these as soon as you are a resident or whether you have to wait 2 yrs like other benefits.
