It's about time we registered with a GP.

I went to our local practice and got the forms, They have 2 docs taking patients at the mo and we can register with them but still be seen as a casual patient at other doctors surgeries, although I'm not sure of the point of that. $58 for every consultation, if you pay on the day it's $55.

I wasn't keen on the place though, it's fairly new, clean tidy etc, but the phone was ringing like crazy and the reception staff were really under pressure. Something else I couldn't put my finger on.

Can anyone recommend a GP in Wellington (CBD, Lyall Island & Evans Bay, Kilbirnie, Miramar, Seatoun areas)?

PM me if you don't mind sharing this info, please.

No help really. But we used Johnsonville Medical Centre while in Churton Park. Lovely doctor really helpful, I think we paid around the $50 mark for a consultation.

Here in Featherston we pay $40 a time and have got two exceptional doctors who we're really grateful for.

Sorry no help at all am I :(

We pay $58 in Paremata - great Dr's (I changed from an English GP who didn't have a clue to a Kiwi one - much better). $58 is about the going rate out this way - I think my last Dr charged $55 per visit.

Good luck in finding a good Dr locally. Have you asked your neighbours/colleagues who they use? That's how I found my current Dr - I asked my next-door neighbour and a good friend of ours who they used - both came up with the same Dr.

Hi all
Sarah, thanks the neighbours use the same one:( but will get the OH to ask at work.

I emailed and called the DHB for a list, but no reply still. If I had a list I could do 'drive bys' :D
