We went swimming at the weekend ,at a big pool in west auckland called "wave" ,it was a great pool ,we had a great time ,$20 for a family of 5 ticket . :nice1

But I lost my watch :no ,So thought what the hell I'll give them a call and see if it has been handed in .Lovely lady on reception took my details and called back 10 minutes later "No ,sorry ,can't find it ".

Oh well silly me for losing it .

Tuesday morning 8 am ,phone call from them ,They had it :raebanana

Dave picked it up for me today .I'm amazed to see it again ,I'm sure that wouldn't have happened back home !

I lost my 3 credit cards when we first arrived. Been out for a breakfast meal on a sunday, and realised 12 hours later that i had lost them, along with Elaine's Reebok jacket. After a quick few calls we had the news that someone had handed them in....phew. Especially since there was about 80k on them. To think that the jacket alone would have disappeared back in the UK, never mind the cards

Nice to hear you got the watch back Marie:nice1

I can imagine how happy you felt to get the watch back, helps restore faith in mankind eh. let alone the feeling of being 'lost' without it.

Have to say though (forever being the one to wave the Union Flag) - I can think of 2 similar situations back in the UK. One was when mum lost her purse in Telford shopping centre, full of credit cards, charge cards and cash. She was in a right state as you can imagine. Later that day she got a call from the shopping centre admin saying that her purse had been handed in - complete with all cards and cash. The second occasion was when hubby lost his credit card in Curry's in Cannock. He asked the staff whether it had been handed in and left his number. Later that day he got a call saying it had been handed in.

Sorry to sound like a pain in the neck - but these things do happen in the UK too.

Quite agree with Diny there it does happen in the UK, I even found one a couple of weeks ago complete with cards, ended up going on a large detour to the police station and going through the rigmarole of form filling etc. Still don't know if the lady got her purse back because we never heard another thing about it, but at least we did our bit. Funnily enough, the week prior to this I found a brand new mobile phone, all singing all dancing, very expensive, bit of detective work and found out who it belonged to, handed it in, again heard nothing but take it they got the phone back.
You do get the impression that these things are becoming rarer though, so it is nice to hear some good news.

Happy Easter everybody
