Well Folks,
Flights are booked and all ITA documentation sent to NZIS today!!!! :eek
Case officer told me yesterday that it should be sorted well before Dec 31st.
OMG nerves are really setting in now - lots of snapping and irritability in my house I can tell you!!! ( sorry Ali I know I'm a Cow)
House is sold all solicitors stuff went off this am as well.
I feel like I'm in a bit of a tizzy now. gotta try to empty the house streamline clothes, sort documents, notify everyone official and unofficial, finish my invites for the party!, sort shipping and it seems an insurmountable task compared to just sorting paperwork for immigration - which was a major pain in the rump!
I wonder if I'll get a spare moment between now and leaving - somehow I really doubt it.
Any tips on how to easily get things sorted will be very appreciated or any ways that anyone found to be most effective and less stressful!!
will keep you posted
love
Linda x
Ps I've still got the rotten flu aswell - damned inconvenient!

Hi there,
Well done!
Coincidentally, I handed our ITA over to our case officer today at NZ House. Wow, was that ever a good feeling! I walked back to work across St James's Park with a real spring in my step, first time for ages...
Couple of things other people might find useful. Our blood test results were printed out on a bit of paper separate to our medical forms. They want to see those, so don't forget to send them in along with your medical forms. Second, they prefer payment by credit card, it helps them process things quicker and is less of a headache for them. No indication of when ours will be processed but apparently they have more than doubled the number of officers working at NZ House so that's a good sign.
Not up against such a pressing deadline as you guys it seems - hoping to make the move sometime mid Feb to Christchurch. Flights not booked yet but Travelbag has some good prices - I checked last night!
We made the decision to "give it a go" way back in early 2002 and have been waiting ever since then to get this far. The dreams we dreamt, sitting on a bench overlooking Sumner and watching the sun set the last evening we were in NZ in October 2002 are looking like coming true. It's a truly colossal moment!
Y'all enjoy it!

Hi Guys
Well NZ house must have been a bit bust today, as we also submitted our PR pack this afternoon too..
Sent Pete up there this afternoon with all the docs and met our case officer at 2pm (well just before) and Pete said she didn't come across as being very helpful..more that his being there was a real inconvenience!! so not a good start. Anyway she checked everything off, gave us some 'un-necessary' docs back (Driving Licenses etc..well cant be too careful! ) ;) and was told if Pete had a start date for his job in NZ, it would be processed more quickley, but as it stands she won't even be able to look at our application for at least 10 days and then it COULD take another 6 weeks for a decision :eek :eek
Not the kind of timescale we were looking at, but have no choice.. really hope it comes through quicker than that :hopeso :hopeso . A bit worried that we'll be out on our ear over xmas, if the house sale goes through ok..so better get our plan b and c in order pretty sharpish now..whatever that may be.. :eek so wish us luck :smile
Will keep you posted, and all the best of luck to you Linda and Dan and keep us updated with your progress!!

Hi Dan,
Was really intrigue with your post on the medicals. Just need to know what is tested in the blood test - is it a comprehensive blood test where it covers basically everything like cholesterol, blood sugar ,etc or just a test on a specific items like the Rapid Plasma Reagin test for syphlis as listed in the medical and X ray certificate form.
Thanks.

Linda - did you open your medicals or had you sent them with the ITA fully sealed etc. Just interested as we opened ours! Didn't say we couldn't and others on this site said they'd opened theirs.... worried now!

Things really moving along for you now Linda, now you've reached the 'all hell let loose' stage your feet won't touch the ground - good luck and remember to keep us posted.
Voth 30 - the main thing the blood test looks for is syphalis !!!!!!! That's good to know eh.
Moorf - I opened our medical reports, in fact they were just returned to us in a large envelope along with the x-rays so once that was opened all the forms were just bubdled up inside. We never got any complaints from NZIS that the medicals were there for all to see.
Good luck to everybody.

Hi again guys,
Just a quick note for Voth: the blood test is ONLY for syphylis, as far as I can gather. They ask for a urine sample on the day and test that for glucose, blood and protein using a coloured stick.
Aside from being hit repeatedly with a little rubber hammer there wasn't much else to it!
Will keep you all posted on progress.
Dan

Wow Linda - it's all go now, hope you feel better soon, and manage to find some calm in a nice warm candelight bath . . . ahhh This before your mind takes over again with all the things that need doing. You've probably already done it but if not, make a list and 'brain dump' all things to-do on it. It will give you a quick place of reference / overview, and will make you appreciate each milestone when you can tick things off that have been done :nice1 Really thinking of you.
Debs & Pete; Dan - well done to you guys too ofcourse. Envious me ???? Nahhh, still patiently waiting for our succesful status :hopeso
love to ya all
Babette :cheers
