Hi

We used GB Liners and would recommend them, all our stuff arrived a couple of weeks ago - no breakages. Cost us £3,488 for 20ft container, we came from Oxfordshire though so used the Cheltenham branch. Hope this helps.

We used Crown and have no complaints, nothing big broken, all disassembled in Glasgow and reassembled here no problems. Lost a small lid for a glass pot and broke half of my spice grinding set, nothing to cry about.

Only criticism were the Livingston branch were a bit slow to answer queries, although they were very friendly. Auckland Branch were great.

We used GB Liners - no complications, no stresses, no complaints...

Didn't use either - we used Britannia - they were brill - 110% - would definately use them again.

However (bringing up this thread again but it will be interesting to see if he's still 'at it')....... we had a quote from Crown (I'm sure it was crown) - the rep was called Angus and he had his mail order bride hidden under a pile of blankets in the back of his car !!!!!!

I know loads of other people on the forum met him and his wife - just wondering whether he's still quoting - whether they're still married - does he still hide her under blankets? Has she done the obligatory 2 years with him, dumped him, brought in the rest of the extended family and now lives with them in a house well away from Angus.

We're using Crown. They have been great. Around 3.5K for a 20 foot but it looks more like a 40 footer is needed!

Hi

We have just been quoted from Allied Pickfords for 20 Ft container ....4500 quid + ins!

also Whites were in yesterday and quoted 20 Ft container all in with 25 - 30K insurance for about 3500 quid. This is from North East of Scotland (Elgin)

We are still waiting to hear from John Masons if they come up this far.

Will keep looking.....

We used GB Liners' Brighton office (they have a few different offices = not sure which would be your local) and our initial contact was the Branch Manager, Thomas Hare, and his email is brighton@gbliners.com

I can assure you all that Angus is still going strong with Crown, and happily married to his Thai wife. I had a good look at his car when he arrived, hoping to get a glimpse of the famed lady in question, but unfortunately she wasn't in there :D

He also happily told us that she is a skilled in the traditional Thai art of ..... massage. After recognising my massage table, he felt the need to explain why he knew what is was ;) ;)

On a sadder note, if anyone out there remembers Neil Abbott, from Bishops, or is waiting for paperwork from them, please give him some time and do not ring him direct. He was widowed a few weeks ago, and has been away from work. I felt really, really awful when I phoned him on his mobile chasing the quote, as he explained the situation to me. I'm not sure if this is a good sign about the company, as I would have thought someone else in the office should automatically pick up his workload if he was off for such a long time rather than leave him to try to pick up the pieces a month later.

We've used GB liners (Altrincham branch) and have so far been very impressed with them. Our container arrived in AKL on 9April and The Moving Co are delivering it here on Wednesday !!! Will tell you our experiences this end once all is unpacked.

Got quote from Crown (Andrew) and would have no qualms about using them - thoroughly professional and based worldwide so no local agents involved. Reason we didn't use them was purely the price. Even after haggling they were still around 1500 pounds more expensive then GB Liners.

John Mason was also in the frame with us, bit lower than GB liners. Came down to feeling more comfortable with GB Liners.

Good luck making your decission.
