Hello all,
I have several questions regarding application for residence.

1-My doctor has completed (NZIS 1007 August 2005) forms. He believes that this is enough. But I have received NZIS 1136 (Complementary form for medical and chest X-Ray) as well in my ITA envelope. I wonder if doctor needs to fill in this form as well? (It contains more tests such as fasting sugar and Hepatit C tests)

2- My BMI was 35.9 when I did medicals. Does this cause problem for me, if all others are OK?

3- Embassy says that they have send my medicals to a service in NZ for processing and needs to wait until medicals are cleared. Does any body knows who they are and how long it takes to return the medical results back to the embassy?

4- I have not assigned a visa officer yet. Does this mean that my first round of processing is not performed yet(My credit card is charged)

5- Any body has any information about processing times in Bangkok?

6- I have a job offer which will start soon. Can I go NZ in a visitor visa (Which is faster when you apply from overseas) and then apply for a work permit from within NZ while my residence application is in process?

Thank you all usefull people in advance for your advise.

Hi and welcome to the forum,

I'm not sure on alot of your questions but for point 1, you should read the below link. I've cut and pasted one of the questions which I think covers your question 1. So what does your certificate say? March 2005 or August 2005?

What will happen if an applicant completes an old Medical & Chest X-Ray Certificate dated March 2005 and lodges the application on or after 28 November 2005?
The application and any application fee enclosed will be returned to the applicant, who will be asked to complete a new certificate (NZIS 1007 August 2005).

I think the hepC tests etc are optional depending on whether the medical examiner believes you need them.

Hope this helps.

You will definitely need the new forms completed, I had to go back and get the newer parts of the forms done, so do it all the first time, saves a lots of heartache.
