Hi to you all. We are new users to this forum as well, Rob, Sue, Ross (7), Owen (5) and Scott (3) :) . Such a huge source of information. Many thanks to everyone who contributes, we have learnt so much and found everyones stories really interesting. Rob has an interview with the NZ Navy mid May with the aim of transferring from the UK Navy, has anyone on the forum had any experience of this? Any experiences with the NZ Navy would be gratefully welcomed.
Also any info on studying Nursing at Uni would be good.

I think Rob will probably be based around Auckland, from what I gather the main Navy base is in Devonport, Auckland but I guess all will be clearer when we have our interview. Thanks for the replies :) Off to walk dog across the fields. Lovely

Welcome to the forum. I may be able to help with some nursing queries. I am about to start work in NICU at Auckland Hospital. I did my nursing training here in NZ 1990-1992, but things have changed alot since then!! PM me any specific questions and I'll do my best to find out the answers for you.

NZ's main naval base is indeed Devonport on the north shore of Auckland if I remember correctly, on the Hauraki gulf. It is incomparable to the RN, with 2 frigates and a fleet tanker of a type similar to the UK RFA Rover class small fleet tankers of around 7000 tonnes.
