I have been on the Points Calculator website, www.immigration.govt.nz/pointsindicator, and think I have got 130.
Just wanted to check with people if this sounds reasonable.

Age 30-39 = 25
Degree = 50
Degree in IT (Skills list) = 10
10+ yrs work experience in UK = 30
6+ yrs work experience in IT (Skills list) = 15

By the look of it I would have a good chance of getting selected from the pool.

Owen.

No idea yet!!
We are going to the South Island on holiday in November, and have just started to think about thinking about emigrating. Christchurch would be the obvious one if we like the look of it.

Hi Owen and WELCOME to the forum.

Your points sound OK to me, plus if you get a NZ job offer you will be well in !!

If you do decide to submit your EOI and it gets selected, then timing becomes an important issue.

On the assumption that you haven't got a job offer, when you have received your ITA (usually within about a month) you have 4 months in which to fill it in and return it, then there will probably be at least a 3 month wait until it is assessed and then if PR is then granted, you can stretch out your actual immigration date for up to another 18 months should you wish.

All I am trying to point out is that if you are going to NZ in November, the above timings may help you decide at what point you wish to submit you EOI to work in with your holiday/recce trip.

Julie
