Hello,

I have finally sent in the whole enormous pack to apply under the adult child category and I have no idea how long this is really going to take!! I know what it says on the website but has anyone had any real experience?? My family seem to think it will be reasonably quick but they have all gone under different categories. I need to go asap and am getting very impatient and worried that I won't hear for 6 months!!

Any info would really set my mind at rest :confused: :wah I can feel a sleepless night coming on!

we went the adult sibling way NZIS recieved our application 21st march & we had a letter confirming last weeks positive phone call today .

We are approved in principal as of 21 st April - basically pay the migrant levy & then visa fees & away we go !!!! whooo hooooo :exit

We were initially told by letter that it would be 4 months - so 4 weeks was amazing - & that included a few letters back & forth about queries .

any other q's fire away - can't promise I'll answer tonight though - i'm nearly asleep now

Ours was family catagory - partnership, it took about a month from handing in the application to hubby being informed that he had PR in principle.

Thanks so much, that has really set my mind at rest. I have the chance of a really fantastic job but only if I can be there before the end of June. As I don't have a house to sell, the only thing holding me up is the whole passport issue. There are a lot of fingers permanently crossed in my family at the moment. I guess I just have to wait for the acknowledgment letter to arrive.

Think I will go and do some more packing. Congrats to Vic and Debs!!
