Hi to all from another new member
Feel like I've been on this comp for days, been trying to work out my EOI. I'm a HGV Driver, which appears on immediate skill shortage list but not on long term list. Could anyone clarify if I get points on absolute skill shortage question on EOI.
Final question, any opinions on going on work visa and getting employment to get points for PR or obtaining job offer while in UK.

Hi welcome to the forum.
Would suggest you Pm kim39 - he went out as a HGV driver on a work permit and I'm sure (knowing Kim as we all do!) he would be more than happy to pass on his knowledge.
Good luck! hope you make your dreams come true!

We travelled over to look for a job, got a work permit and then applied for PR, but you cant get a work visa with no job offer. You would have to come over on a normal holiday visa and apply for a work permit when you have your job offer.

Steve,
You won't get any points for your EOI unless you have a firm job offer. I am here as an HGV driver and we are in the process of getting our EOI together from here. You need that offer before you submit it. My advice is try and secure a position before you submit as you will probably be wasting your time and eventually your hard earned cash.
Have you been in contact with any firms, or any offers come your way? Have you thought of just coming in via the work visa route, as it is a cheaper option in the short term? and then apply for your PR from here. It is a hell of a lot cheaper to do it from here.
