Hello everyone!
I submitted my pre-assessment application over the internet... today is my ten-day mark :uhoh ... is it common for online applications to be delayed? How did you guys send your application? Anyone who submitted their applications online and got a reply after the 10-day period? I'm willing to wait a little more... but if it's either 'you get in in 10 days' or 'not at all'... well thenm I guess I better be sending my application again through courier. What should I do? It's the only thing we're missing in our EOI.
Thanks!

Hi
Yes, I did the same as you. I received an email with the results. Have you checked your credit card to see if payment has been taken? If it has you know they are doing something.
Good Luck :nice1

I got a reply after about 20 (gross) days. Thought they are saying 10 working days, I believe it take usually longer

I got mine really quickly - submitted it last Monday evening (UK time) and got it back Friday. BUT it was bad news - qualification not recognised. So maybe no news is good news - if they've taken your payment, they're presumably working on you case. Good luck with the results.

Katiejay / Leachie, do you mind me asking what your qualifications are? I sent my OH's off about 8 days ago - still waiting to hear.

The qualification I submitted first was AFPC - Advanced Financial Planning Certificate for financial advisers. Since that did not qualify for any points, I've now submitted my other insurance qualification for approval - Associateship of the Chartered Insurance Institute - so we'll see whether that counts for anything. I'll post an update when I get the results in case there are any others reading the forum who have similar qualifications.

The certificate I sent off was Btec NVQ level 3 Retail Management, just also passed the Institute of Logisitcs & Transport Level 3 awaiting the grading for that.

I applied and paid online then heard nothing for three weeks.
At that point I sent a chaser email and still nothing.
Once 4 weeks were up I stayed up late and rang them. They said they had sent the original reponse 2 weeks prior and resent on receipt of my chaser.
Anyway, I re-confirmed my email address and it popped into my inbox 20 minutes later ! :clap
feel a bit like I wasted 2 weeks of my life waiting, but got it in the end and as the result was in my favour I'm not complaining too much. They were really helpful on the phone and I even got a name and personal email address from the employee who said she was happy for me to contact her direct if it still didn't turn up.

Given the other postings on this thread it seems we were really lucky. Applied on line and paid with master card and had a reply giving assessment less than 48 hours later. Hubby is a engine and power plants technician but has worked as a production fitter for the last 23 years. Apparently this is in the skills shortage list and would we please get there in a hurry.

I sent off two pre-assessments by e-mail and paid by credit card and they replied in four days to both of them - both good news too.
It's the ITA that's taking the time! - five months now and counting!

Should I bother with a pre-assessment? It's my OH who has a job offer, & on his own he has 100 points & job offer, which is enough for an EOI application. We've filled in pretty much all the EOI, except my bit as I do have qualifications (2 degrees, RGN & RM qualifications) and would expect to work as a nurse in NZ (looking at the cost of living threads I'm going to have to work out there!) But because I trained in an old fashioned hospital attached school of nursing, and ditto for my school of midwifery, the qualification isn't being recognised on the EOI online form (or at least it keeps telling me that that section is incomplete and I'm not getting any points. My first degree was at an unrecognised institute (UK polytechnic pre-1992) & my 2nd is a Post-Grad diploma in Community nursing...... and they don't recognise PGDips.
It seems that we have 3 choices.... submit with OH's 100 points & job offer, nothing from me, & cross our fingers & hope.
Or get my quals pre-assessed & then include me..... should equal more points (they want nurses don't they?) but will cost more and take longer.
Or for me to go the whole hog and register with the NZNursing Council and submit EOI with me as lead applicant (& hoping that if NZNC have recognised my quals Immigration will agree with them and not ask too many questions) and OH's job offer will still count on the partners section. This will be the most time consuming and expensive option, but I'll have to register with NZNC anyway if I want to work over there.
We want to submit the EOI soon though, looks like OH's job won't come up until Oct 07, but we need to get everything moving asap as I've teenage children that need to get into school over there as soon as possible as their education is at a pretty crucial stage.
I'm getting so confused, don't know what to do for the best.

I would say, go for the most points. If the NZQA will recognize your experience you will get another 10 points on the EOI. If you think you will get more points with you as the primary, you may want to consider doing so. They pull from the pool in order of points, after pulling job offers and those with 145 and up. just my opinion, of course, but I think, the more points the better. Also, I think you can add to the EOI after submitting, so you could go into the pool with hubby as the primary while waiting for the NZQA to finish your assessment.
Good luck with everything!
