We have a returning residence visa which means we have to travel to NZ by 10th Jan 2007 to have passports stamped etc to validate the visa.

Before we go we need to sell our house and god only know how long that will take with the market as it is.

My question is, has anyone been through the visa process twice ? Is it just as expensive (medicals, police certs etc) as the first time. I need to weigh up costs of flights against cost of re-applying should the need arise.

Also, as a the prime applicant - do I need to drag my family over to NZ to have their passports stamped ....

I guess I should be asking the NZIS these questions but I though I'd ask here first....

Two clarifications:
1) If this is your first trip, then you will be travelling on your "residence visa", not RRV.
2) Your RRV will be activated on first landing and valid for 2 more years.
3) I am positive everybody has to go.

The other questions - maybe somebody else can help..

Costs go up all the time, and requirements are always subject to change. I would say it's worth taking the whole family, getting the RRV stamped, and checking out the place once more to be sure .
