Would appreciate any links for employment in Hawkes Bay.
I havent got a degree and dont fall into the bracket of trades such as Doctor/Nurse/Engineer/teacher/electrician/plumber/brain surgeon etc.....
At the same time I think I'm better than flippin burgers/being a security guard/ manning a bar/working in a call centre doing cold calling......
I have done many searches on t'internet and apart from the usual seek/jobstuff - not much comes up. Theres even one website, I think its Hawkes Bay Jobs (original) and there was 1 (ONE) job listedwith over 600 people registered......
I think HB could be a pipe dream for the Mrs (her mum lives in Napier)
Then again - Im not too enthused by the Auckland rat race either (from experience)
Hope I dont sound like i'm moaning - Im just worried. My first choice of career is something to do with aviation (Flight Ops/Ground Ops and ATC) as thats where the bulk of my experience lies. I've been in touch with many companies and theyre all saying the same thing - companies have been laying people off so recruitment is zilch at the moment. Ive also looked at the RNZAF but there wouldnt be much I could do now until I get over there and even so Im not sure if I want another instalment of military life.
I am working for a construction company at the moment as a Plant Hire Manager. Basically communication and organisational skills are needed in my present role.(also a skin akin to a rhino and the patience of a saint are needed - comes in handy for a PR app)
