Wow. Have just got off the phone after being called back by a chimney sweep who, at his own expense, gave me 20 solid minutes of his advice and expertise. He stayed on the phone while I did flue/burning tests to see if our Masport-stove chimney needed a cleaning, then told me to save our money and spend it on good wood (not Goodwood, racing fans, lol) instead, at least for now. And gave me tips on good burning techniques.
