Looking ahead to when the ITA arrives, my work experience is obviously relevant to my qualifications, but my question is, do I need to word it in a particular way to fit the NZIS 'profile' of relevant work experience for my qualification?
This is not problemmatic as my employers are very helpful and will 'fine-tune' to my request.
To those that have done the ITA, any guidance for me?
Thanks
Billy

Hi Billy,
Just sent my ITA off the other day and actually asked NZIS about work experience.
Your employer will need to write a letter to confirm you work for them, how long, what hours and if this job is relevant to your job in NZ also if your job is relevant to your qualifications, sometimes they require job descriptions and payslips etc etc.
A big tip for your ITA - if you know you are gonna get it very soon organise all these things so that when it arrives you just fill the relvant bits and send your stuff to them - It has saved us a lot of time.
Meds are only valid for 3 months and police check 6 so timing is a factor - it takes 40 days to get your police check back and there can be a waiting list for meds.
If you've done your EOI they just send you a sort of paper version of that and a checklist of what they need from you to return to them.( thats what we got)
If you find that this helps - great if not I'm sure there are others out on the forum who have completed the porcess and can help
If theres anything else i can help with feel free to pm me
GOOD LUCK
Love Linda xxx

Thanks for that.
I dont plan on getting medicals arranged until I get the ITA; who knows how long it might take.
I had already prepared a work letter when we were going to be moving to Canada, and their immigration dept provides guidance as to what kind of skills relate to particular qualifications.
My current problem is finding course details of my HND qualification. It's a Scottish one, but although equivalent to the recognised English version, its not on the list. My college is unable to supply me with any details at all as to what modules etc the course contained so I'm not sure what the NZQA will take as a minimum. I've obviously got the certificate, but I dont know if that will be sufficient.
Cheers

Hi Billy
Did you not get a list of the course modules with your certificate. Hubby did but that was City and Guilds and HNQ?

Yes, my certificate shows the course modules, but only for the final year. NZQA appear to be asking for modules for all years, unless I've interpreted it wrong?

I think you will have to get your quals assessed........we have to even though my hubs future empplyers are stating that the qualifications that my husband have are the same you get in NZ.......the immigration service still want further quantification of this

Hi Billy,
I think Sarah Jane is right on this - if its not on the list it will need assessing - start this asap as it can take a while with the toing and froing of information.
It seems a bit odd that your college have not kept details of course content - I did my nursing qual well over 10 years ago and the college amalgameted with a uni so I thought it'd be lost but I was assured all quals had to have course content kept on file.
Hope it all works out okay in the end maybe badger the college again or the tutors etc.

Billy, in our experience things moved really quickly, at least get your medicals booked you can always cancel later. We were held up because we had our x rays and then the radiologist went away for 2 weeks after he made a mistake on our report form. There was also a 4 week wait in our area to get booked in.
The more you get done now the easier it will be when your ETA arrives.

Thanks for all the advice. I'll cobble together as much as I can get hold of and send it off to the NZQA, and see what they're happy with.
The timescale is not too critical for me. The best time for selling property where I live is spring/early summer, where the better weather and the garden will add to the desirability; I've got a large garden area and we're on the Clyde coast here.
So, get the ITA returned Dec/Jan, residency Feb/Mar, visit NZ Apr/May, emigrate Jul/Aug, sounds so simple!
Cheers
