Hello All,
I've been trying to find a definitive answer on whether two copies of all documents have to be submitted with the ITA. Some people suggest it is necessary, but I can find no reference to it in the ITA Guide.
Is just the original, or certified copy, of a document sufficient, or does an additional copy have to be included also.
Thanks,
John

Hi john,
We only sent one copy, I say copy I think you have to send originals. I recall being a little worried about sending original documents just in case they got lost.
Everything was sent by recorded delivery, an envelope was included so that they could be returned with a record too. Nothing went missing.
Hope that helps Bob
P.S only certified copies used were for wedding certificates because they weren’t in English, quite expensive getting certified copies but the only option if not in English.

Hi John.
We supplied NZIS with all original documents and attached 1 photostat copy of each document to the original.
We took our ITA in person to NZ House in London and an immigration officer went through the documents and gave us a receipt for the originals...they kept all the originals and the copies except for our passports as we wanted to use them.
Hope this helps,
Julie

Same for us. Originals or certified copies and a photo copy of each. All was fine.

I supplied only one certified copy of each document. This was for peace of mind and didn't cost much - a £10 donation to a charity, I think. I'm sure someone else mentioned elsewhere on the forum they paid £20 for 10 documents.

In our case, we filed all our originals in a folder. Then, we made a photocopy of each original & filed them in the same sequence as the originals in another folder (uncertified - would cost us NZ$5 per document to be certified, too costly).
We submitted both folders in person at NZ Immigration office. The Visa Officer took 20 mins to vouch all the photocopies against the originals & gave us back the folder with the originals on the spot while they kept the folder with photocopies for good.
Hope that helps.
