Hi Meely! How do you like it in NZ so far? Is it what you expected? Have you suffered any homesickness? Hastings is a very possible destination for us in July/August so I've been looking on the net at the girls' schools there - which school does your eldest go to? Do you know any other ex-pats in Hastings? Sorry about all the questions, I get carried away! I guess it's because I've spent months wanting to ask lots of things, but having only joined yesterday, I can't help myself!! :laugh

hi Vanessa and welcome to you also! l love nz so far, and l think it has lived up to all expectations.as for homesickness well lm from Scotland :) and moved to England 17yrs ago leaving all my family behind and the feelings were just dreadful tears tears and more tears.so l think lm pretty much prepared for those feelings at some point,l dont think they ever go away and can raise there ugly head at the most unexpected times! there are loads of ex-pats in Hastings and the Kiwis call Havelock Little Britain l just dont no why :laugh my eldest goes to Havelock High and they have moved her ahead a year and will sit her exams this time, she is loving school and says its a bit more relaxed than her old one.if l can help with anything else just ask.thanks meely

Hi, welcome to the forum. We arrived in March too, and all is good so far. I know what you mean about expats - where we live in Sumner, it's known as 'Pomner'!
