We went off the farmers market in Hastings the other day (on every Sunday, starts at 8.30).
What a lovely place to go shopping. Lots of stalls and testers. Try some wine, a few olives, olive mustard and then the chilli chutneys, yum.
Stopped off half way round for a cup of fresh coffee, didn’t have a burger (everyone else seemed to have one, the choice was beef, venison, ostrich, pork or chicken).
NZ olives are lovely, I like olives, my favourite was Greek olives, that’s just changed to NZ olives. They are even better than the ones I had on every Greek holiday.
Hmm spent $10 on Olives, I think I overdid it, I couldn’t decide which ones I liked best so had to take two big tubs (eating them as I type this).
Just spotted their website on the tub,
http://www.telegraphhill.co.nz/
looks like you can order them online, but I think I’ll go back to the farmers market instead.
(the roast olives are particularly nice, I think the smoked are a very close 2nd )
Anyway that’s enough about my olive fetish. :o
If you live near by it’s really wroth a visit, its not a huge market but its really nice. I went to the Sunday one (I didn’t notice any eftpos machines, but they claim to have them in the website)
