My diploma shows on the long term shortage list , now if i add these points do i need to work in this job or can i just use it to get PR?
Why this question , i never worked in what i went to school for and do not plan to now.

Hi Koen,
I was granted PR on my original qualifications as Turner/fitter. I haven't been near a lathe or mill m/c for some years now, though I am still in the engineering trade with quite a few years experience under my belt. That seemed to be good enough for NZIS.
If you are granted PR unconditionally, you don't have to work in the profession you claimed points for.
Hope this helps.

Although 'x' amount of years experience in the profession count for more points.
