Hi, I know this question has probably been asked several times already but I seem unable to find the answers I’m looking for.
My family and I have just recently been issued with New Zealand Residence Visas under the Skilled Migrant Category, which are valid until May 2007. We also have in our passports Returning Resident’s Visas which are valid for 2yrs from the date of issue of the original residence permit.
After returning from a fantastic family holiday in NZ this month the news we have received is what we had originally hoped for but my wife is not sure she is ready to make the move yet, and I don’t think she will be able to make the correct decision in the next 6mths.
My question is can we travel to NZ to activate our Visas and receive our residence permits? Then return to the UK and if so how long must we be in NZ to do so?
Am I correct in thinking this would actually give us 3yrs from now to hopefully make the right decision? (1yr from now until Visas expire and then 2yrs until Returning Residence Visas run out)
If anyone can give us any advice on the above it would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
D&J
