Hello,
We are waiting on a medical issue being cleared up after that we have been told that a decision will be made straight away.

My questions are, as my OH has a job offer we wont need an interview, is that correct? and based on others experience should we expect our CO to tell us that the medical issue has been sorted or just await the contact as described below?

If we dont need an interview, what is the procedure for informing us that we have PR? will it be by email or by a phone call or post?
and finally how long from the email/phone call/ post being received should we expect to wait for our passports to arrive back with the stickers in? (we left our passports with them).

Thanks in advance (sorry its jumbled, its came straight from my head :laugh )

Albert

Hi Albertz,

Sad to hear that your medical issue is not sorted yet (I think we are both on the same boat, I am still waiting for them to confirm that fatty liver will not cause them huge financial load). I am sure we will hear good news very soon.

Regarding your question, My understanding is that having a job offer will give us more chance to have interview waved. As I have read here and other forums, the main focus on interview is to evaluate how fast people can find a job and settle down. Job offer answers to many of the questions they might have.

I also believe that in our case, when they hopefully receive medical clearance , thwy do not contact us immediately, but will wait untill paper works finishes and then will contact on the prefered contact methos which you have specified in your application. If you received their medical extra doc request on email, it would very likely be the same method.

Other timings differ in every visa office. I am sure other members can give you better answer for that.

I can answer your last question, after you have PR, you need to pay your migrant levy, then it's only amatter of days before you get your passports and golden tickets.

So the sooner you pay, the sooner you receive :D

Good luck with the medical, I hope it goes smoothly for you.

Well we've left our passports with them and gave them authority to take the cash so as soon as they say yes we should get the passports back

Hi Albertz

Whether you need an interview or not will depend on who is the main applicant.

I have a job offer but we still had to be interviewed because my husband is the main applicant and he doesn't have a job offer. I think the fact that I had a job offer made it pretty much a formality though.

Hope the medical stuff gets resolved quickly

Hi there,

As for our case on the medical issues (I have diabetes), the CO wrote to us (e-mail) and informed us that we have "Aproval in Principle" subject to clearance from the NZIS doctors. The whole process of doing blood tests, getting the Ok confirmation from the NZIS consultant physician and an email from my CO took about 1 month.

Good luck on your medicals and I really remember how stressful it was waiting for the results from NZIS consultants.

I wonder if it is different when you are in NZ because my CO said that the application cannot proceed with a medical issue outstanding

We were notified by email from our case officer. About two weeks later we got our passports back.
