In a pre teacher life I was a residential social worker and I worked for a private children’s home, I also fostered teenagers through them. Does anyone know how the system works in NZ re children in care etc.

Thanks for the link. Will be very interested to see what you find out Avalon. The care of children through social services in the UK could at times be very unimpressive. Again like anywhere. The interesting thing was I worked for a private care home and the standards were very impressive indeed. Don't know if NZ has private care homes, but I know the UK ones cost social services a lot of money.

Does anyone know of any other useful sites I could look at besides CYF, looking for suitable Jobs, experience in Residential setting working with Children with Learning Difficulties offering respite care to the families, currently working with children looked after by the LA.
