Boy oh boy !!!!
I can not wait untill the new agent can start !!!!
The old agent sent people around today who do not even have their house on the market - they just really like our house & wanted to see it before they put theirs up for sale !!!
I need to sell it now not 6 months down the line when they have sold theirs - grrrrrrr & while I'm ranting - they attended with spawn of satan - in the form of a 5 year old child who jumped on the beds & opened drawers & wardrobes left right & center - I suspect our house was their idea of an afternoon out ........ :uhoh
well feel better for letting it all out
you've got to laugh

That's dissapointing, if you are like me you spent ages cleaning and making sure all was right. People are so thoughtless at times - or maybe unlike me other people keep theirs houses clean and tidy all the time? :uhoh

I need at least two hours warning of a viewer just to fly around and put the toys away, quick vac up and hide the 'worktop mess' (usually post waiting to be dealt with) in the microwave :D
Its horrible, feel like I am living in a 'show house' not my home, have to vac up every day (normally a once a week kinda gel!!) dusting and polishing a couple of times a week.
My god if they started opening my cupboards they'd be drown in the 'rubbish' that falls out! (must start sorting it really!!)
Someone come and buy it so I can relax - pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!!!!

Know what you mean Vic. We even had one viewer of our three storey house say "it's just a shame that the house is on three stories":uhoh. Well, maybe the sales particulars would've given you a clue before we tidied up the house for you to look at!
As for the 5 year old kid, couldn't you have done a John Cleese stylee elbow in the child's head, followed by an "I'm sorry, didn't see you, hadn't expected you to be on our bed".
Come to think of it, couldn't you have elbowed the parents as well?:D
And the agent?:yes

It's really annoying when that happens. Last year I spent an hour showing a couple round who hadn't even put theirs on the market. After that we asked the agent to only send people who were in a position to proceed. It might be worth asking the agent to do that.
Good luck - you'll get there in the end.

I know exactly how you feel. When we were selling our house we had one lot of viewers come around who actually confessed that their house wasn't on the market. Nor did they have any intention of putting it on the market, they just came to view because they'd always liked the look of our house from the outside and were interested to see what it was like on the inside !!!!!!
I was so gob smacked I just stood there !!!
Hope you get some genuine people looking soon.

I know exactly how you feel. I will now only "see" people who are in a position to move, at least you're not spending your time tidying for time-wasters. Good luck :nice1

Pesky kid and parents. I'd have been tempted to elbow them all. How rude.
Good luck with the next lot of agents...................

To update you - the viewers from sunday put in a silly offer on monday - I may have been tempted if they were in a position to actually buy - anyway they are on their holidays now so won't here any more untill next week .
Also had another usless viewer midweek - who said property was perfect - but did not like the road - she knew it got busy as she drives down it every day !!!! durrrrr silly old boot .
oh well .......

Hang in there it will happen, when we were selling our house prior to coming to NZ the guy who actually bought it had let us down on viewings twice prior, so when he requested a viewing for the third time I only gave the house a quick tidy, not expecting him to show up, but low and behold he did, spent exactly 7 minutes looking round the house, never even went in the rooms properly, and I thought well this is a waste of time, told Kim that there was no chance that the guy was interested, but he went and put an offer in the next day, and followed through to completion within 6 weeks, so you just never know.

I know you feel like screaming when buyers say they haven't got their property on the market yet, but we got lucky this way - our buyers put their house on after viewing ours and sold their's pretty quickly. You just never know I guess. I'm sure someone will come along soon, keep positive.

Poor you, how anoying. Everytime I read about the system down south I really feel for you guys trying to sell - especially when its holding you up when you want to leave the UK.
Thank god we don't have the same system in Scotland, the sealed bid system may make it difficult to buy somewhere (a year for us.....how many times were we second!!!).
But at least when selling you can have mass open viewings for a few weeks and then set a closing date. Any prospective buyers have to make their best offers then.
Anyhow keep going......fingers crossed you get someone soon....

I can't bear to watch, so we've given the agent a key and we go out when a viewer comes round!! I hate that feeling, though, that strangers have been in the house - like being burgled!!
Just remember why you're doing it - it's worth every bit of hassle if it gets you where you want to go......
I must admit, though, we're a bit more relaxed because we've done everything back to front. We're selling the house BEFORE we start the residency application (committed? Maybe we should be!). I can't be doing with leaving it all to the last minute and I refuse to believe our dream won't come true, so why not!!??
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Your buyer's out there somewhere.......
