To all of you in NZ on PR I was just curious about he reentry visa situ. I'm a kiwi and my husband has PR through me. We applied in 2004 thinking we would be off to NZ within the year. Due to a number of reasons (too long to go into) we are still here in the UK but are due to head to NZ in Aug. Hubby has his reentry stamp for 2 years which expires in Nov but just interested in the ease/process of getting it renewed. When we were delayed going to NZ our rep at NZ House said that there wouldn't be a problem getting it renewed but just curious on anyone's experiences.
Thanks

Hi DLD
He needs to be in NZ before it expires. You can get a new 12 month visa after spending 182 days in NZ and a indefiinite one after spending 182 days per year for 2 years. Don't think he can renew for more than 2 weeks validity till the initial six months are done, leaving a bit of forced stay in NZ between November and that date. There are other options like investments etc. Check the latest RRV requirements on the immigration website.

Thanks for your info. We will definitely be in NZ by Nov, that's one of the minor contributing factors of heading off now. Once we get to NZ don't plan on moving out of the country again for a bit - plenty to see and do there and just living there will be like a holiday anyway!
