It's now official! We are actually moving! After 8 years of thinking, 18 months of paperwork and planning, the packers arrived on Friday, the container arrives tomorrow and we fly out for our first visit to Christchurch on Wednesday! We are staying for two weeks to find a house and a job and then return for five weeks, collect the children and cats, say the dreaded goodbyes and then all fly out together on 31st July!
Can't quite believe it's finally happening!
The first day of packing was unbelievably chilled! Mark Chudley and crew have been really great and have made it so relaxed so far! Totally effiecient, polite and professional! Start as you mean to go on I day! I spent most of the day sat in the sunshine out of the way! It was great! After spending the previous day hobbling round (as I broke my toe kicking a suitcase - accidently not deliberatley) and we were up until 130 getting ready, it was welcome relief to chill for a bit!
Am just beginning to think about our trip now and being away from the kids for that long! Longest we've done so far is 4 days but I guess we will be so busy and we are focusing on the big picture!
Can't believe summer has finnaly arrived here in the UK just as we are about to fly off! At least it has meant that I can finally pack the winter stuff! We were all still wearing it a couple of weeks ago and I was starting to gte worried how we would manage without it all! Long may the sunshine last.
This forum has been a fantastic source of help and advice and altho I don't post very often I read most days and always find the answer to my question!
Thanks for everything all of you!
It's really happening! :D
