Just wondering if anybody can tell me what the school terms are in NZ and when the school year begins and ends?

The reason I ask is that we moved from England to Scotland a couple of years ago and the school terms are slightly different up here. I know we're a long way from moving yet but we're trying to make sure we arrive at the best possible time for our boys.

My daughters school holidays this year are

TERM 1 7th FEB -13TH APRIL

TERM 2 1 MAY -30 JUNE

TERM 3 17 JULY -22 SEPT

TERM 4 9 OCT -14 DEC

and 6 public holidays .

Marie, are these secondary school dates you're talking about? My girls have considerably shorter holidays than that! Is there a difference between primary and secondary school?

Kate ........yes they are Ellen's who is at college [high school ].

Can't put my hand on the younger kids school timetable .
