I didn't think there were any, well, not if your going from the UK anyway.
I'm hoping someone will correct me if I'm wrong, because if we do need them, we'll have to have them soon.

Nothing required from the UK.
Although I think your medical form asks when your last Tetanus, etc was, thats all. :nice1

Hep B may be required depending on what your job is!
I would also recommend that everyone with children should get them vaccinated for Hep B as its on the increase in NZ.

We just had our meds last week, no mention of any immunusations required, or any you have had and they didn't even want to know about the kids, and i took their red 'baby' books with all the information in thinking they would need it.
Can't remember which immunisation it is, but the kids do have to have one over there - marie p started a thread about it!

I think the medical forms list a number of vaccinations that you are expected to have had before arrival in NZ. Our med doctor in the UK did not pick up on it when we applied for WP, and when we applied for PR in NZ our med doctor here pointed out that we should have had Hep B before coming to NZ. Hep B is on the rise in some parts of the country, particularly in areas like Rotorua, so we got it.

So the Hep B vaccination is suggested, but is not complusorary?

Can I ask if you had to pay for the Hep B vac in England?
When would people suggest we get the medicals, been selected but unsure how long it takes to hear back from them  .

Ring around to the panel doctors you are thinking of using and see if they have a waiting time, we had to wait 2 weeks to get in at ours, Think the chap in manchester may be a shorter, but at least you have an idea of how long you will have to wait once you get your ita. (We have to wait a week between meds and results been available too!)
Hope that helps!

As Jenny and I generally opposed to them for political, personal, and scientific reasons, does anyone know if any vac./immu. are actually required?

I had the idea that you needed to have the vaccine in NZ as there is one specific to the NZ strain, this is also how Im reading this link, Thanks Smiler). If Im having senior moment and have this wrong someone let me know.
I think the vaccines required depend on the country you are currently living in and have lived in. To be sure you should check with your pannel Dr.

The vaccination needed for children when they arrive is menNZB which is a type of meningitis prevelant in NZ therefore the vaccine has been made in accordance.
If you have small children you will find they need loads more boosters etc when they arrive. My eldest was 18 months when we got here and had had all his immunisations including mmr but still needed to go once a month for three month to have another 2 lots of injections each time. It's heartbreaking because he is now terrified of nurses :(
