Just logged in first thing today and we're selected from the pool - thanks for everyone's advice on all the bits & pieces.
We're hoping to get ITA soon - 165 points and job offer - fingers crossed!

We were selected today too! :nice1
...but with only 110 points and no job offer, so looks like we'll be waiting a little longer for the next step.
I was thinking... since it looks like the time between selection and ITA is looking like quite a wait, is it worth getting police checks organised now, since they only last 3 months?

Was anybody else selected today?
If so, when are you planning to make the move?
We're hoping to go end January/beginning February 2005, but looks like we'll be going on work/visitor visas since the PR route is so slow.

I think police checks are valid for 12 months from date of issue after your EOI is selected

Ooh, that sounds better. :nice1 Maybe we should start organising that now then?
Since we're planning on going out there during the PR process is it easier to get medicals and police checks done before we go?
Thanks for the advice, Sandra

I think Police checks last 6 months and medicals 3 months from your issue of ITA. Medicals is a tough one as there are waiting lists of up to a couple of months to get these done depending on where you live (it's worth ringing your nearest panel docs now to get waiting list times) but I think we're all more aware of the time scales of everything now through the 'Came across this' thread so you should have a reasonable idea of when to expect your ITA. Working on this you should be able to work out when to get meds done so there's no risk of them running out.
