Hoping to come over as a Diesel Mechanic which is on the long term list. I'm finding it hard to find total cost of living details ie taking into account a taxes, food/ energy costs, car, insurance eating out etc.
My question is will a diesel mechanic wage be enough to support a family with four children? I expect to be able to buy a house with no mortgage.
Thanks
Smiler

Hi Alan
Welcome to the Forum. :clap:clap
This thread might be of help http://www.emigratenz.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6394&highlight=cost+living
That gives tax rates too.
Generally we find tax here high, insurance (car home and contents) cheaper, eating out cheaper and good value, leccy bills will obviously differ on what you are running.
If you need any more specific costs etc, just ask.
Where are you heading and when? :nice1

Thanks, Alan
