Just wondered if anyone who had sent certified copies of their passports with their ITA could answer a question.

Do you need to copy every page in the passport or just the page with the photo and details on?

We have actually got both, thanks to the solicitor, he told us that a lady had come back to him because Austrailian immigration had requested a full copy of the passports. So he thought it best to do the lot for us and still only charged £30 for 5 passports, 5 birth certificates and a marriage certificate.

Anyone know which we should send?

Doesnt matter - I have emailed our case officer and she replied within one minute of our email!! (on the ball!!)

So for anyone else who may need to know this is her reply!

Just a certified copy of the ID/Photo page of the passports is fine.

Kind regards

Hi

You only need the page which shows your photo & your signature & the expiry date of your passport - this should all be on the one page.

The copy should always be in black & white as, technically, colour copies are not supposed to be accepted due to the possibilty of fraud.

hope that helps

Hi All

What is the difference between getting certified copies of all docs (including passport) or ones confirmed by a notary? What does that even mean!

Thanks

Certified is usually done by a lawyer, accountant, police officer etc., whereas notarised is by a notary public. One who is authorised to notarise documents but is not one of the main professions, i.e. a government offical. I believe they are the same thing.

Marcia ,

Our shippers needed a copy [just a photocopy]of every page of both mine and Daves passport .

To see if we could have travelled anywhere dodgy in the past [the fact that Dave had a new passport didn't matter ],and bought anything dodgy

So hang onto them as you might need them later .
