As you know its difficult finding information looking at the NZIS Website - and I came accros this by mistake really.

http://www.immigration.govt.nz/Branch/LondonBranchHome/News/skilledmigrantprocessingtimes.htm

Might be useful to some - LOOK at the tips at the bottom of the page.

We're probably looking at March time then given that we were only selected today and don't have a job offer! Hopefully between now and then we'll go out there anyway and transfer the paperwork to NZ. Might stand a chance of getting a job offer then and being moved up the list a little! :hopeso

Ali,

Thanks, this is a great link and nearly gave me hope of an imminent ITA, then:

* EOIs drawn on 4 August and 18 August (below 17,000) will be allocated in October.
* EOIs drawn on 18 August (above 17,000) and 1 September (below 25,000) will be allocated in November.
* EOIs drawn on 15 September and 29 September (below 26,000) will be allocated in December.
* EOIs drawn on 29 September (above 26,000) will be allocated in January.

I was drawn on the 18th of August but my EOI number is 26907!! This would imply that I won't be allocated until January. :wah Is this the number referred to above, does anyone know? I'd be interested to know EOI numbers of others selected at the same time.

Cheers,

Mark.

OK I bit the bullet and called the UK office. A very nice young lady told me that she did not think that the numbers quoted are the EOI numbers but are probably numbers of individuals.

She also said that they are currently allocating 4th of August EOI's and that 18th of August selections should be processed in the next 2 weeks, even telling me to call back in 2 weeks if I haven't heard.

So all in all it looks like things might be about to take that next step and I can start to get really excited again!! :nice1

Thanks again for the link Ali, I think you deserve a beer for that one! :cheers

So it looks like the EOI number is not the number they are referring to, nor can it be the number of applicants. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. :?

Yeah, I agree Mark. Was selected on 18/08/04 and my no. is 2372. I was wondering if it referred to when you actually submitted your EOI, as my number is so low. I submitted way back in march when NZIS relaunched the new SMC and had the very first draw on it. Any comments ?

Hi All,

OK I just went through the numbers from the latest selection document and it seems that the numbers referred to in my post above are the number of people selected, NOT the number of EOI's or the identifier of the EOI. After the 18th of august selection there were 17,649 people selected. So out of 2522 people selected 1873 should be allocated this month, the rest next month.

Averaging out the numbers 720/969 EOI's selected August 18th will be allocated this month (this week!!!) the other 249 next month.

I hope this is clear, it helped me to understand the numbers better, and means I'll be checking the NZIS site even more than now!! Could someone please clarify for me, when you have logged on does the "Selected" status change or do you have to click on the link to see the change, i.e. does the link point to a different page?

Mark. :P

Hi Mark,
I am pretty sure that your selected status stays as is, but when you click for more info in the new window it will either say congrats, selected from pool, Blah, blah, blah, or "decision successful " your ITA will be winging it's way to you shortly.

Hope this helps
Cheers
John

Thanks, AliJax, for a brilliant link. Why don't they publicise this more? Surely they must get loads of calls on that very issue.

Has anybody ever noticed the date on their EOI submission? If you go into the actual submission there is a heading 'date modified'. I first noticed that this had changed to 4th October when we advised them of our home telephone number in NZ. Now I notice that it says Date modified: 21st October - only last week and we haven't done anything. :?

Also on the 'What's happening' screen there is no date where it says date selected. It says Status: Selected, Payment Status: Received, but under Date Selected just a dash. We were selected on 29th September but it doesn't say that. Is it the same for anybody else selected on 29th with no job offer???

Hi Dave & Sandra,

I was also worried that we've been selected but there's no date under the 'what's happening?' part - we do have a job offer & were selected this week. Do they not update the date until you get sent ITA?

Anyone know the answer?
