We have now finally got to the stage of booking flights :clap :clap and have been told by the travel agent that a laptop must go inside your hand luggage. Now, we seem to have been told so many different things about luggage that my head is spining, but can anyone verify this, or even better, tell me that they are wrong?
We cannot get the migrants luggage allowance of 40kg each as we are going to Christchurch not Auckland, so on only 20kg each we are already tight on both weight and space.
Can anyone help here?
Thanks,
Emily

Hey Emily,
When we flew Singapore Air last year, both my partner and I had laptops. We just had them in separate laptop bags. They will allow them as long as they are in appropriate bags, additional to your cabin luggage.
The check in agent did ask us to open the bags to make sure it was a laptop though :laugh
Hope this helps,
Jen

Ring the Airline directly.
You really don't want to put the laptop in your hold luggage - It will almost definitely arrive broken.

Dont put them in your checked luggage! They will get crushed and it will break the LCD screen. I had this happen to an Exec at my last company.

I had no problems carrying mine seperately.
As long as each bag doesnt exceed the limit they are fine about it.
Fair enough too - dont want some great heavy bag falling on your head!
