Hi folks,

I had my post ITA interview last monday and I was told by my CO that I would be getting a WTR. I am currently working in Singapore as a systems engineer (IT).

I am aware that Auckland and Wellington are good places to go if you are looking for IT jobs. But, I would like to try other places ? Anybody know any other cities in NZ which are good for IT jobs ?

Also, I will most probably be moving alone to NZ. So, how easy or difficult is it to get houses where people want to share the house or something ?

I can only speak for welly really and you wouldn't have any trouble getting work here. Christchurch is probably the only other 'big place' that I know of.

It might be a good idea to keep your options open and search for the job then check out the area if you have the luxury of time or come over on a reccie trip.

and there is always good old Trade me. www.trademe.co.nz (http://www.trademe.co.nz) and individual agencies in each town.

Thanks a lot. That is quite reassuring. I don't think I want to go to Auckland, as I believe it is already way too crowded. I think I will try welly and christchurch.
