Need your help again guys!!
OH has just received the job offer from Auckland and it is pretty good,but before a decision is made just need some info on houses.
To start with we would rent,and the job is near the airport.
We have heard that the North is better but pressume more expensive.
We have 2 girls aged nearly 9 and 11 so we have to think of them with schools as well.
My ideal house would be with about 2/3 acres of land and prob budget wise once we sell in the UK would be tops $550,000,pref lower!
Do u think i'm living in cuckoo world!!!?? or would it mean settling eventually in the south side of Auckland.
OH would prob be ok driving no more than 45 mins to get to work.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

We are renting in south Auckland and are having our house built at Wattle cove which is South Auckland too ,15 minute drive to the airport .

It is possible but the commute will take more than an hour to the airport during rush hours. At the moment, they are constructing motorway 1 new extension (bypassing some small towns) and will cut down travelling time. Therefore, place like Taukau is getting popular with Aucklanders who want lifestyle block. Here is an sample of what your money could buy in Taukau :
