Will be interesting to hear about your quotes .

Are they just in the Napier area or nationwide?

Been on their website and it seems to be Napier area only.........thought they may be part of a larger nationwide concern.

Hey.

There used to be someone in NZ on the forum that was starting up in the double glazing field.

Would it be Driver?? Cant remember and a forum search didn't reveal much.

If you're reading this Driver, how about some info ?

ohhh how exciting !!

mum has that awful nz double glazing with the brown aluminium frame - i detest it but she seems quite proud of it :D

I'm not ashamed to admit that I love my white upvc windows ! although they are appropriate for my style of house ....

uPVC windows are the best overall and the most recyclable of all of them. The expected life of the frames is 200+ years!!

Note: One downside to the Eu style windows (As mentioned above) is they have non that open outwards. They all open inwards for some reason I can’t explain. Awful when you have draperies or blinds.

Be very wary if they don’t fusion weld the corner miters. (and do it in NZ not import the whole window) and have stainless hardware.

There are at least 4 manufacturers of uPVC windows in NZ, must put the profiles together here but don’t do the extrusion. Check out EPC Sheerframe Windows in Wellington at www.epcsheerframe.co.nz I think they do UK profiles with Awning (Top hinged opening outwards) and Casement (Side hinged, opening outwards). Also try www.homerit.co.na (Akl).. In Chch www.nkwindows.co.nz, are also Eu profile based.

You can now get coloured frames, but try to avoid. White is the most long-lived and colours reduce the longevity, increase heat of the frame in the sun, and are harder to fix if scraped or scratched.

Hope this helps,

Cheers
