For those of you who have already settled in NZ, what do you think is the best way to deal with life assurance?

Our policy here was linked to the mortgage as a decreasing term that would not be valid overseas. Can we get life cover from a NZ company before we fly over? Or do we just have to look on the bright side and travel without any until we get it set up over there?

Thanks,

Emily

Hi

I would be interested to know the answer to this question too. We will own no home bythe time we fly yet technically will surely still be residents of the UK before we get a WP in NZ?

It is all so confusing. I figured that we would just reley on our travel Insurance until OH got WP then we would apply for life cover in NZ. However, Travel Insurance only covers up to £10,000.

I cannot get life cover easily and at a reasonable cost as I have a history of Breats Cancer so it is all donw to OH.

Really don't know what to do - don't want to leave ourselves uncovered for even 1 day, cos you know what will happen don't you.....? :uhoh

Not sure about all policies, but I know alot do allow for you to be living overseas and continue with a UK policy for its term, we had no trouble, and we have emigrated!
