After submitting our EOI last June 12, we were selected from the pool yesterday, June 21, 2006, with only 115 pts, no job offer, no work experience in an area of skill shortager... just 10pts for my hubby's recognised qualifications in an area of skill shortage (Manufacturing Engineering and Management gained from the De La Salle University, Philippines). :raebanana

I just have two questions:
1. How much longer (estimate) do we have to wait for our ITA to arrive?
2. What things can we start preparing as early as now that we don;t have an ITA yet?

Thanks in advance everyone!
:D

Congratulations! Great news! :raebanana

You can start preparing by getting all the needed paperwork, all the translations, the police checks, the medicals, etc.

Hi

Congratulations. :clap:clap:clap

Nienke is correct, you can start all the preparation of the paperwork. I'm not sure of the time line for ITA's in the Philippines though.

Thanks! :nice1

We're just missing my original diploma (as I haven't claimed it yet since I graduated 4 years ago.. hehehe :)

hmmm... I guess we better start taking care of that already...

By the way, I didn't see anything in your signature... are you already in New Zealand? If so, where? if not, what stage are you guys in?

Congratulations! Great news! :raebanana

Congratulations!

If you look in the top right hand corner of peoples posts you will see their location (if they have put it!)

Start gathering any information you put on your EOI, original birth certificates, marriage certificate, references from previous employers (make sure they state on the reference start and finish dates and how many hours worked a week!) Book medcials and send off for police checks.

good luck!

Once you get selected, make sure you post it as well so we can share in your good news...hehehehe :)

If you have any questions on completing your EOI, just shoot me an email, we completed ours on our own and you definitely do not need an agent to act in your behalf... everyone here would be glad to help.. hehehe.. right peeps? :o

Congratulations! I think you should start getting all the paperwork together asap - we decided to wait until we received our ITA, and then we received it a month before we thought we would, and now it's a mad scramble to get it all together in time!

About, How much longer (estimate) do we have to wait for our ITA to arrive, I don’t know how long in the Philippines because I have my application here in the US so my application is process in London office and I think the Philippines application is process in Bangkok office. But for me it takes 3 months.

However start gathering things you need for ITA especially the NBI (Philippines Police report), It takes a while. I almost miss my due date of my ITA submission.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Hi!
Thanks for the advice! I heard from other people Filipinos that it may take about 6-7months max... hmmm...but that's a good tip.. maybe 3 months into being selected, we could start requesting for a new NBI clearance...
So, where are you located here in the Philippines?
Where are you planning to settle in NZ? :)
Keep in touch!

I think the "submitted" changes to "Decision Successful" before they send out the ITA. Unless they've changed that now.

I don't think they've changed it - ours went "Decision Successful" about a month ago.

another question from me again...

once i've submitted my eoi are they going to do a prelimanary check first before selecting my EOI or preliminary check happens after the EOI is selected from the pool and then the ITA.

Hope you guys wont get tired of answering my non-stop questions because this is the only thing i can do for now while waiting if my eoi will be selected

thanks

another follow up question

ours changes from "submitted" to "selected" does it means that its going to change to "Decision Successful" before they send the ITA?

Basically -yes. Although having said that, we received our ITA in the post well before the status changed on the web page !

Do a forum search for something like 'immigration process' and you'll find an excellent post by 'Juniper'. It will answer most if not all of your questions. I'm sorry, I don't know how to post the link.

Do bear in mind your location, remembering that as far as the time elements are concerned re: applications etc., yours may be different , because Junipers postings mostly relate to UK/USA, so therefor may not be as relevant to you.

May I suggest that you start getting all the paperwork ready for you ITA now. It's surprising how long it takes to get it all sorted.

Good luck,

Julie
