Hi All, a Newbie to this forum. I am thinking about making the move to AUS or NZ. NZ Easier because of the points, AUS harder because I am over 45.

But I hail from Sunny South Africa, the not so rainbow nation. Would love to hear from any ZA Expats in NZ about their perceptions on Roads, Schooling, Food prices and quality et al. Is it really a much different lifestyle from ZA.

After all ZA is a long way from Europe as well and we have insane taxi drivers, high jackings, carjackings, road rage, disregard for the law by the bucket full.

By the way real estate here, has also gone nuts. But watch that interest rate hike and the plunging Rand.

Regards

Hi Andy

I also hail from CT! So good to see other SA's also want to make the move. Our EOI has just been accepted, so we're now busy with the long process of extracting a birth cert and police clearance from SA *sigh*. All worth it in the end though!

My brother-in-law, his wife (who's Afrikaans) and their son have been living in NZ for about 4 years now, and they love it! They say it's very like SA, but without all the crime and dropping currency!

Hi AndyCT

Not from there myself but my boss is and she's told me it that moving to NZ was the best thing she's ever done. She and her two children moved over 8 years ago (she is a solo mom) because she felt that there was no future for her and her family in SA. Even her mother moved over to NZ about 3 years ago. Good luck!
