We will soon be off on our travels to NZ with Singapore Airlines and after many, many phonecalls we have finally managed to wangle 30kgs each. :nice1 Husband in going on a visitors visa, with onward travel waived and me and the kids are travelling on aussie passports.

They must have a nagging policy because first phone call we made we were told they would only allow us all 25kgs, second call was husband 30kgs and me and kids 25kg, and now they have allowed 30kg for us all.
I think it must depend on who you talk to but we got there in the end :P

Hi jocalla

I flew with Emerates this time, and spent two days packing, weighing, unpacking, packing, weighing, unpacking...........(you get the idea) I phone Emerate twice and was told that I was only allowed 20kilos and that anything heaver would be charged GBP31 per kilo. :eek :eek

So I finally got my cases down to a weight were I could actually pick them up, and dutifully went to book in at London Heathrow. It turned out that my hand luggage was too heavy, and the (lovely) lady on the desk calmly told me to take out any extra and pack in the suitcases as they would allow us up 30 kilos!!!

I was too excited about flying to make any further comment, as Im sure you can imagine. :mrgreen:

Joanne, get a first and last name of who said what and if they can email/fax you it in writing..last thing you want is for the ground staff at LHR to say "20 kgs lady..what is your problem?" or words to that affect!!

and ask for your credit card for the extra fuel they have to put on the plane cos of all your mikey taking!!

Ahead of you Kiwi, we got the ladies full name :clap She was busy typing in all the info as I spoke to her, as I had the same worries as you said but she said it will come up on screen at check in but I asked for her details just in case :hopeso

And no, not stopping in oz just Singapore for 2 hours, but planning ahead for a trip over there next year to catch up with everyone. Makes it alot easier just being a few hours away from brisbane than a day away :cheers


Wilson182 , I know the feeling, have packed and unpacked not end of times now :uhoh This will be the last time now so will just :hopeso that all will be ok.
