Hi, [EDIT: Sorry I posted this in the wrong forum, should have put into the Medicals forum]
I'm new here, though I've been lurking off and on for some time. After 3-4 years of talking about moving to NZ, my wife and I have decided to go for it.
We qualify for 140 points without a job offer (degree, 10+ years in IT), and health is good (BMI is 25 for me, 19 for her) except for one thing. Before I submit my EOI, I have a question about a medical situation we're going through currently.
My wife just had her latest pap smear and it came back abnormal but not cancerous. She's had one LEEP and another is scheduled because they didn't get it all the first time I guess.
I'm worried that her condition might cause "undue burden" on the NZ health system, and the question about whether we expect ongoing treatment has me worried. Is something like this going to be a big red flag for NZ IS? Have others been rejected over something like this?
We don't think this will require ongoing treatment, but we don't know for sure. So should I answer Yes to that question on the EOI? I'm worried a Yes may not be accurate and cause a red flag, but I don't want to be dishonest either. I know the medical check asks for pap smear info, and hopefully by then this will all be cleared up.
Can anyone give us some suggestions on this?
Thanks!
Jason
