Hi Everybody
I was wondering if someone could give me advice on what to put in the covering letter? We're hoping to submit our ITA in a month, and I have no idea what the covering letter should contain!
Am scared that there's some "magic words" or something that the NZ immigration looks out for, that'll make them pass your application...
Any advice would be much appreciated! :o

I don't think the covering letter would make a difference to your application - we, like most, submitted on-line without a covering letter.
Good luck!

Ours is produced verbatim below:
"
Please find enclosed our ITA paperwork for emigration to New Zealand from the United Kingdom.
As an IT expert with skills that match New Zealands shortages, I feel I am in an excellent position to provide a New Zealand employer with these skills. I have applied to 7 companies already, including Computerland, Hudson and Elan IT, and am awaiting feedback from them. Getting a position in the New Zealand IT job market is difficult when you are not in the country. However, I feel that by getting my CV out to these companies, they will at least have prior knowledge of my skills and I will not be coming to them cold.
My wifes skills lay in being a Personal Assistant, and she has also registered her CV with an agency. Again, however, job offers are difficult to achieve without actually being in the country.
We have looked at houses within the Christchurch City area. With the money we will be bringing with us, there seems to be a plethora of property available to us in our price range. I have had an offer to stay with close friends for at least 6 months in the first instance, so we can get our feet on the ground and find something that is right for us.
My wife also has family in North Island, with whom we can stay if necessary.

Thanks so much Aydon! We really appreciate your advice....I know that we're worrying waaaaaaaay too much about every single stage of our ITA :uhoh , but it seems like there's so much at stake that we have to be very careful of not messing it up!
Your letter sounds very good - I didn't know whether I could include personal details of having family there already, but now I definitely will! :nice1
Thanks!
