Have very fond memories of eldest daughter wandering aimlessly home, barefoot (of course) playing whatever they learnt that day .. pack the recorder!

barefoot (of course)
My husband hated my "newzealand feet " when we met - he said they were the hardest most revolting feet ever :laugh he says I'd better not take to going out bare footed when we go back . Still to this day i hate wearing shoes & am at my happiest barefoot - especially outside - love to feel the earth & grass in my toes . Mum would always complain about our green feet from playing on the lawn & mutter about her sheets being ruined - we wre NEVER allowed to go to bed without a bath , just in case our dirty feet shoud maim her sheets ahhhhhhhh happy days ................... :nice1

I took my two girls to the park earlier in the year .. around April and they both kicked off their shoes and spent the next hour running around barefoot. It was REALLY cold and windy .. other kids had coats and hats and wellies - mine had T-shirts, bare feet, wild loose hair and bright red cheeks. I'm sure the other mums thought they were feral!
Nothing I can do/say will change them .. but I do make them bath every night too!!!

To get back to recorders, my eldest daughter has just started recorder at school (she's 8). All the Year 4s do it. At the moment, it's revision for her because she'd started a couple of terms earlier at her school in the UK. She has her own recorder because they had to buy them at her UK school, but here, the kids don't have to - there are enough there for everyone to use. Don't worry - it won't be long before you have to hear that awful din that is the recorder again (thankfully she's taken to keeping it at school, which is a tremendous relief).
