It's my son's 12th birthday 3 days after we arrive and I'm wondering what we can do for him. Is there bowling, cinema or such like in Palmerston North?

If it wasn't winter and the 'close' season for the supers stocks, you could have taken him to watch the racing!

My son had his 9th birthday last week. We took a group of 10 kids bowling. Have to admit it was a great afternoon. Afterwards they all came back to our house for a birthday tea.

There's a good cinema complex in PN, plus lots and lots of good restaurants. There's also a new multiplex place opened (don't know the address but can look it uyp for you if you like) - where they have an indoor climbing wall - which I understand is great fun.
