We are now about to book our flights and have decided on a flight for the 28th December. We are doing this as we feel we need a goal to work towards as we were not getting things done. Now I'm starting to panick! I'm thinking about the first week or so, arriving and not having a clue. I need to find a hotel that will let us have the dog. I need to ............ OMG what do I need to do? Help someone practical! Please :roll

open the wine and relax and write a list...tick it off one by one.
and Pack all your plastic storage boxes kitchen bins and other storage boxes as the price of replacing them is rediculous!

katI think I can manage the "open the wine and relax". It's the bits after that that concern me :D

Kat is right - draw up a list and work your way through it.
As far as hotels that will accept your mutt - I'm sure a good old search on Google can help out there - sorry I can't.
Also - don't forget the wealth of information on this forum, just ask, there's always an answer somewhere - and always plenty of support too.
Hundreds have done it before you and hundreds will do it after you - therefore it's not an impossible situation you are faced with, although at the moment it feels like it.
There's lots of us 'on the ground' over here already who I'm sure are more than willing to help (well I know I am - just ask if you need anything).
My folks flew on 28th December last year - they found it quite a reasonable time (financially speaking) to travel.
Oh - and by the way - listen to Kat when she rants about plastic ware ..... it's a stupid price !!!!!!
Good luck.

Heres a site to help you find doggy friendly places in North Island,
http://www.weekendescape.co.nz/petfriendly.html
If you get totally stuck and are around Auckland, I can recommend a good boarding kennels. Bear in mind you will be arriving in peak holiday season, so make sure you book early...
List is definitely the way to go, its great watching tasks disappear....

Diny, Pepper took exception to that - said to tell you she's a little lady! - although she doesn't always sit like one!!! :laugh
Thanks all for the advice. I will do the list. I am normally so organised but this is a little scarey.
Diny the flights are a good price and that is part of the reason for opting for that date - and being able to spend one last Christmas with Mum and Dad. Thanks for the offer of help - you will be fed up of me by the time we get there! :yes
