I am sure I read a thread yesterday about this,and blow me can I find it now!?
Bronnie our Golden Retriever will be joining us after about 10days,and I'm looking for a decent motel that would accept her,as well as us!!!
We will need be looking for a rented house after that but it's just to get us started.

The AA Accomodations Guide includes whether the motels, holiday parks, etc listed allow pets or not -- I found its North Island guide to be the best resource (the South Island guide is equally good). Make sure the motel allows your dog in the motel room itself -- some "dogs allowed" places do not.

If you happen to be coming to Palmerston North, the Pavilion Motel is very pet-friendly and decent. Settlers Motel was good too. Some of the other pet-friendly places are kinda yuck. For renting, the Professionals and Property Brokers seem to have more pets-allowed places than the others, at least in Palmy.
