Looks great!! .. I'm going to show it to the kids tomorrow - get them excited .. unfortunately we won't be able to take you up on that offer until October onwards but have fun anyway. Looked up Okahu Bay as I wasn't sure where it was (we stayed in Mission Bay when we first arrived in NZ last time) and it's right next to Kelly Tarltons .. yes? Past Whakatakataka Bay? used to love passing that sign .. "Oh look kids .. it's faka taka taka bay" Yeah Mum.... right ............. cool ......................... (not!)

Hi Kate

No, I've not been around much since we were stuck in the world of dialup (surreal place where everything moves very slowly:no ). Now we've joined the real world of Broadband (yayyy, got it this week) I'll be around a bit more.
We're slowly settling but it's taken longer than I thought it would. We bought a 3 bed brick and tile in a nice area (so much for renting for a year! ), the kids are well settled in daycare three days a week, the local primary school is great (Gem starts in November), we both have jobs, we have cars, and I'm finally figuring out which shops to go to for which goods (IFYSWIM). Can't wait for spring to roll on (doing two winters in a row is hard going - especially seeing as we arrived in time for the coldest winter since 1972!!).
How are things going for you guys down south? Hope you're all settled well. Are the kids enjoying school and making friends?

Hi Debs

Everything's going really well thanks. Kids have settled into school with no problems. I'm looking forward to spring too (like you, two winters in a row). Having said that, despite the polar blast of last month, I still way prefer winters here to winters in the UK, especially when you get bright sunny days that you spend down on the beach!

I'm glad all's going well for you, although things don't seem to move that much quicker with broadband - sometimes I'd say it's no faster than dial up! Tell Gem to make the most of his last few months of freedom - it's all downhill from there.... Would you say things have changed a lot in your time away?
