At last ... All my documents have arrived, I've just finished photocoping everything and written the covering letter (crossed every "T" and dotted every "I"). :)
All I've got left to do is take everything to New Zealand House tomorrow morning and my ITA will be submitted!!!!!. (With my sense of direction I'll get lost, so my next task is to print off loads of maps and directions!)
Hopefully it wont take them to long to process as I was orginally suppost to start work 2 weeks ago! (Work did comment that the start date was optimistic but to try and get there ASAP - no pressure.)
How long has it taken everyone else from ITA submittion to PR granted??

It’s slow, its really slow.
That is until you get a job offer in NZ then NZIS sort of changes into a well oiled machine and woosh, once a job offer was on the cards it changes to a few days!

Sarah.
Our ITA was sitting in the queue when the job offer came in. We were interviewed the next day (Tuesday), PR confirmed the next day and had the magic stickers by Friday. So yes a few days. :clap
NZIS had our ITA for 2 months before the job offer came in and we hadn't been assigned a case officer.
Hopefully you'll be able to get a timescale from them tomorrow. :nice1
Good luck

Managed to find NZ House and submit all the docs. Yeah!!!
Asked about time scales and they just stick to the general 1-3 month line but if you have a job offer then you will be counted as a priority ....
I'm hoping the time scales above are more like it!!!!
Thanks for your replies.

Forgot to ask .. As the next step will be interviews.
What questions do they ask (how long does the interview last) and most importantly, do you have any helpfully tips on how to answer the questions??

Hiya!
I've not been through the interview yet (still waiting for some documents and the medicals - )
But I have started researching the interview questions, and apparently these are the most common:
Why NZ?
What would you do as soon as you arrive in NZ?
What is your plan?
Do you have any relatives/friends?
What kind of media did you use for research about NZ?
What will you do if you don't get a job as quickly as you would have hoped?
What have you done to look for employment so far?
What support will you have in NZ?
What would you do if you came across any obstacles? (List possible obstacles)
What do you think about the impact of migrants on the socio-economic balance of New Zealand and the wider South West Pacific basin?
How much money did we think we needed to make a good living in NZ
How long did we think it would take to find work?
Mainly how do you plan to make friends ?
How do you intend to find work ?
What will your Partner do for a living?
What if you do not find work in the area that you have chosen to live?
How will you support yourselves ?
Where will you live?
When do you want to go?
What have you heard about NZ ?
Has anyone given you any advice about moving to NZ ?
Have you looked at schools ?
What are your hobbies?
Do you have any questions ?
Have you visited NZ?
What is your financial situation?
Have you looked at properties?
What wages to you expect?
Hope this helps!
PS: When you get through the interview, do you mind letting the rest of us know how long it took to get from submitting the ITA to getting the interview?
Good luck! :nice1

:D :D :D
Yeah - right....LOL
Although you are spot on with the others on your list.....honestly the interview (providing you have done your research) is not half as frightening as you may think.
It lasts between 15 - 30 minutes and is more like a chat than an interview.
And believe me when I say that if Mr. Zardell (who despises a phone) can do it successfully, then anyone can.

Our timescales (No job offer):
ITA Submitted 22nd September
Interview 25th November
The interview was very quick, and the interviewer was primarily interested in how we would support ourselves when we first arrived - we have friends with whom we were staying so she was happy with that. A couple of questions about what job sites I'd looked at and that was it!

i have question about submitting the ITA
I believe that we have to submit all the original documents right? when are they going to return those documents back to us or are they just going to give it back to us on the interview. what if im not lucky and i didnt reach the stage of interview? how soon they would give it back to us. Hopefully it would not get lost.
Like in my case im from the Philippines and I am sure I dont have the previlege of sending the ITA personally and also someone told me that interviews are held in Thailand.

I believe that if you don't want to submit the original documents, then you can get the documents certified by notary public etc and forward these instead (have to send original police reports and medical reports)... but these people do like to charge lots of ££ / $$.

We rang a solicitor and asked how much they would charge to certify, 5 birth certificates, 1 marriage certificate and 5 passports (NB. you only need the page with your photo on, NOT the whole passport!) He only charged £30 for the lot. We sent the whole ITA in registered mail and our documents (kev's accounts and the original copy of the job offer) were returned to us registered mail by NZIS.
