Just a quickie to let you all know that Singapore Air are definitely still doing the internet access on the plane - we're currently cruising at 32000 feet at a speed of 940km/h heading over Aus towards Brisbane!
Also if you get the right time, there are people handing out $5 off coupons for net access too - so it's not actually that expensive either!
See you all in Welly tomorrow :D

Wow!
Dont think I have ever read a post like that on here...
It made me think about our own flight 10 years ago - we were flying into a country we had never been to and apart from my OH's brother we knew no-one.
We didnt even have the internet or email or the benefit of a friendly forum like this one.
You are all so lucky to be able to do this with a crowd of friendly strangers - what a great way to spend the flight - on the internet!
See you in Welly!

Glad you arrived safely, hopefully it's dried up and the sun is out for you today :D
Just reading your blog you say you had a couple of days in Singapore. How was it ? I'm going back to the UK in November and arrive in the evening and then fly out the next night. So I've got a day to pack in as many temples and shops as I can, is there anything that you'd recommend seeing ? Sorry lots of questions, just don't know anything about Singapore :nice1

Singapore was lovely, far too hot and humid for my liking, but by the time you go it shouldn't be quite so bad I don't think!
I think you should definitely go to Chinatown, and to walk along the Clarke and Boat Quays - they're both really touristy things to do, but you have to be sometimes!

Afternoon Tiffin at Raffles. Though if yo do go - make sure its for the buffet option in the tiffin room not the plated option in the bar. YOu can get the same thing at the Stamford hotel but on one of the top floors so you get a fantastic view of the city.
Or treat yuorself to a spa visit if you like that sort of thing. They do have some lovely ones.

Thanks for the tips guys.
Like the Spa option but this time I'd like to get around Singapore and see some of it. Afternoon tiffin in the Stamford sounds like a great option as does walking down Clarke and Boat Quays.
I've booked into the Plaza Parkroyal so I'm hoping it's going to be central, I'm also a woman travelling on her own when I go (no kids and no husband, yipee) as I'm going back for a friends wedding. Already getting my trip to Paris organised for 2 days and I'm only going to be in the UK a week :D

You did indeed!! It's been lovely so far today (although I'm just looking out of the window of the internet cafe in P'ram and it's clouding over - that's no good!!)
:roll :)
