Hi

Well we are now at the stage of organising shippers and want to get a quote from Britannia, are they known as Britannia Bradshaw Int? Just wanted to make sure before I get them round!!! Anybody got any thoughts on whether to take the shippers insurance or an external company ?

Anyone had any recent quotes/experiences they can share?
Thanks!

Jane

Here you go Jane.

http://www.britannia-movers.co.uk/international/index.htm

Hit the contact us button at the bottom of the page and enter your post code. That will bring up the nearest Britannia operater to you. :nice1

We used them and they were brilliant. Can't fault them so far.
The southern unit is called Britannia Harrison & Rowley and their depot was just up the A1 from me ( About 20 miles ).

Door to door. Sole use of 20 footer. Everything packed and wrapped for just over £3500. Storage until we give them the nod is costing £25 + vat a week, with the first 4 weeks for free. Destination port of Tauranga.

We opted for independant ins' and went with Letton Percival. They charge around 1.55% against 3% that most shipping companies will charge.

Hope this helps

Hi,

We used Britannia for our move in Feb. We were impressed with their quote and service until our stuff arrived. Our very expensive matress, chest of drawers, tall boy and some shelves were badly damaged. The insurance company (we went with their insurance) won't pay out. They've said it just needs cleaning and simple repairs. I wouldn't recommend them at all. We moved from York. :(

Hmmmmmmmmmmm having spoken to brittania in manchester it would appear that the branches are independently run hence the differences in service, they wont quote me so referred me to the burton on trent branch, seems like the same old story of pot luck here...sorry to hear about your experience what a nightmare, hope you get it sorted Louise

Thanks for posting i will def take out the independent insurance! :)

Hi Jane,
We had Brittania here yesterday, ill let you know what they quote. We've got a few others booked in as well so it will be interesting to see the comparisons.
They quoted 3% for insurance so ill be giving letton percival a ring (thanks bubbles).£25 a week storage doesnt sound bad, we will need it for a few months.I'll keep you posted on the quotes as thy come in, see if theres any difference between regions,as we are in the south east.
