Alert for Woman
It's all started with my sister, she has been going for her ovary scan annually. This year, the check up show that there are cysts. The doctor said that if the cysts grow, they could come cancerous. So 2 weeks ago, my sister go through an operation to remove them.

Last night, I was talking to a friend and I was totally shocked to know that she had just been diagnosed with ovarian cancer. She told me that she is feeling good and normal, there are no tell-tale signs or symptoms to alert her. It is only until recently that she had blood in her urine which she find it odd. So she went to see the GP and go for an ultrasound scan. It is horrifying to know that cancer had been developing inside her ovary for a while and quietly.

Here is the website about this "Silent Killer" : http://www.medicinenet.com/ovarian_cancer/article.htm

These chain of events had prompted me to take precautionary measure. I always take health for granted and now, no more. I will follow my sister by going for ultrasound scan annually, just to be sure (for the peace of mind).

Mmmmm........................next week, I will see my GP for that.

Thanks Kat, my sister stay in the hospital for a couple days and she is now well and good.

My friend got her ovary removed and the costs of operation and private hospitalisation is about NZ$8k. She is insured with Southern Cross and they refund 80% of her claim (I understand her insurance include normal GP visits). She is now waiting to go for her chemo treatment.

The Sovereign Insurance that we got, cover us for major illnesses treatment and hospitalisation.
